- They regenerate data packets that have been degraded and weakened over distance, and amplifies them back to their original strength.
- They forward the electrical power along the cable while consuming as minimal energy as it can to function, ensuring the PDs receive sufficient power. It essentially acts as a relay for the DC power.
- The extender transmits both the regenerated data signal and power through its “PoE Out” port.
- This outgoing signal is now strong enough to travel another 100 meters to the powered device or to a “PoE In” of another PoE extender (daisy-chaining).
