Fire Suppression Systems are ideal for protecting electrical and electronic equipment and irreplaceable items from fire and the damaging effect of a fire Sprinkler System.
When fire suppression systems detect heat or smoke the eventually send an alert to the panel and eventually activate. A fire suppression system encompasses a broad range of products and equipment including Fire Sprinkler systems, Water mist systems, hydrant and hose reel systems, chemical, gaseous or foam agents to suppress a fire.
1. Defender Mechanical Kitchen Fire Suppression System
DM System
- Defender is easy to install, use and maintain.
- Defender M is apt for high temperature, intensive use and tough applications.
- The performance-enhanced nozzles in Defender’s technology have a wider range and extinguishing performance than its opponents.
- Defender’s nozzles are different from its opponents with its non-clogging feature. The total cost of the system is low with a small capacity system cylinder, minimum number of nozzles and less pipe line.
- Defender’s system cylinder is continuously pressurized. Maintenance and refilling costs are economical.
- Defender’s activation mechanism can be operated both automatically and manually
- The performance of the system has been tested and certified by LPCB according to LPS 1223.
- The system and production quality is constantly checked by BRE Global Certification.
Defender DM Series Kitchen suppression system has an alternative option for applications of all sizes:
DM8: 8 Flow system
DM12: 12 Flow system
DM18: 18 Flow system
2. Gas Suppression Systems.
Gas suppression systems are commonly employed in areas that are highly volatile, critical or contain sensitive equipment where non-fire damage from water is as detrimental to the equipment or materials as fire.
3. Fire Sprinkler Systems
Fire sprinkler systems are intended to actively provide a means to suppress or extinguish fire in an emergency situation. The four main types of sprinkler systems are: wet system, dry system, pre-action system and deluge system.
4. Hydrants & Hose Reels.
Fire hydrant and hose reel systems are the installation of pipes, water tanks, pumps, hydrant outlets, and/or hose reels in a building to provide a ready means by which a flow of water can be delivered in any part of the building for the purpose of fire fighting.
5. Fm-200
Is a clean agent fire suppressant for Class A, B, and C fires and meets NFPA Standard 2001 Clean Agent Fire Extinguishing Systems. Clean agents are fast and effective in suppressing fires, are safe in occupied spaces, and do not leave a residue.
Fm-200 suppresses fire by disrupting the fire triangle. The fire triangle is made up of heat, oxygen and a fuel source and by removing one of these elements, the fire is extinguished.
The System uses FM-200 (HFC-227ea) fire extinguishant which has zero Ozone Depletion (ODP). This colorless, odorless agent vaporizes upon discharge and absorbs heat to rapidly suppress fire while leaving no residue to clean up. It is electrically nonconductive, will not short-out electronic equipment or thermally shock delicate circuitry resulting in less damage to critical equipment, facilitating a much shorter recovery time and reducing downtime.
Another fire suppression system worth looking into is the 5kg carbon dioxide fire extinguisher from the informed shop
6. Ansul Fire Suppression System.
Ansul Products protect more food service kitchens from fire than any other brand. The R-102 Fire suppression System incorporates a flexible design with an extremely effective ANSULEX low pH Liquid Agent. Ansulex quickly knocks down flames and cools hot surfaces, while generating a tough vapour securing blanket that helps prevent re-flash.
The R-102 System is designed to protect areas associated with ventilating equipment including hoods, ducts, plenums, and filters. It also protects auxiliary grease extraction equipment and cooking equipment such as various types of fryers, griddles, range tops broilers, char-broilers and woks. The system is ideally suited for commercial kitchens in fast foods chains, retail food courts, diners, catering facilities, mobile food trucks, hotels and casinos.
It is worth noting that fire detection systems also play a bigger role when it comes to detection fire breakouts
7. Novec 1230 Suppression System.
Novec 1230 fluid is known as a fluorinated ketone. Novec 1230 fluid has low toxicity and has a boiling point of 49 degrees C and therefore exists as a liquid at room temperature. Like halon 1301 it is super-pressurised with nitrogen to 25 bar. Like most other chemical agents, it rapidly extinguishes through a combination of heat absorption (its main action) and some chemical interference with the flame.
The atmospheric lifetime of Novec 1230 fluid is estimated to be in the range of 3-5 days and with a global warming potential of 1, it is considered that the Novec 1230 fluid has no measurable impact on climate change. These attributes ensure that Novec 1230 fluid represents a truly sustainable technology.
Despite having a low boiling point, Novec 1230 fluid is able to be effectively vaporised over a wide range of hazard temperatures. It is therefore available to protect most hazards traditionally protected with halon 1301 and will be particularly important in Marine applications and others where high margins of safety and long term sustainability are considered to be important features.
